Prior to co-founding Edge, Mr. Aneed was a Managing Director and Partner at Natural Gas Partners (“NGP”). During his eight years at NGP, Mr. Aneed sourced, structured, executed, monitored and exited investments throughout North America. Mr. Aneed served on NGP’s Investment Committee, Investment Process Committee, Monitoring Committee, Evaluations & Strategy Committee and most recently served as the Co-Head of NGP’s Business Development Committee, which oversees NGP’s deal sourcing efforts. Mr. Aneed most recently focused on deal sourcing in the Mid-Continent and Rocky Mountain regions and had earlier experience focusing on deal sourcing in Canada. Mr. Aneed represented NGP on over 20 private boards and currently serves on the board of Triangle Petroleum Corporation (NYSE MKT: TPLM). Mr. Aneed has been a featured speaker at industry conferences in Calgary, Denver and Tulsa and has been highlighted in several industry publications. Prior to joining NGP, Mr. Aneed spent four years at Graham Partners, a private equity firm focused on middle-market industrial investments. Mr. Aneed started his career in the investment banking division of Citigroup in New York. Mr. Aneed received a B.S. in Economics, with concentrations in both Finance and Management, in 2001 from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Prior to co-founding Edge, Mr. Bomer was General Counsel at NGP. During his five years at NGP, Mr. Bomer led the structuring and execution of the substantial majority of NGP’s transactions. Mr. Bomer also led NGP’s first-time SEC registration and oversaw NGP’s compliance function. In addition to his legal responsibilities, Mr. Bomer also had an active role sourcing investments in the Mid-Continent region and monitoring portfolio companies throughout North America. Mr. Bomer served on NGP’s Investment Process Committee and Monitoring Committee and represented NGP on numerous private boards. Prior to joining NGP, Mr. Bomer was a Senior Associate in the Corporate and Securities group of Thompson & Knight LLP in Dallas, where his practice focused on the representation of energy private equity funds in all phases of their formation and operation. Prior to joining Thompson & Knight LLP, Mr. Bomer was a corporate associate at Johnson & Jones, P.C. in Tulsa, OK. Mr. Bomer received a B.S. in Finance, magna cum laude, in 2000 and a J.D., with highest honors, in 2003 from the University of Tulsa.
Prior to co-founding Edge, Mr. Pate was a Senior Associate at NGP. During his five years at NGP, Mr. Pate sourced, structured, executed, monitored and exited investments throughout North America. Mr. Pate served on NGP’s Monitoring Committee and focused on deal sourcing in the Mid-Continent, Permian and Rocky Mountain regions. Mr. Pate also represented NGP on numerous private boards. Prior to joining NGP, Mr. Pate worked in the investment banking division of Barclays Capital in Houston, where he focused on financing and merger and acquisition transactions in the oil and gas industry. Mr. Pate received a B.A. in Plan II and a B.B.A. in Finance with highest honors in 2007 from The University of Texas at Austin. He received an M.B.A. in 2014 from Stanford University, where he graduated as an Arjay Miller Scholar.
Prior to co-founding Edge, Ms. Moore was Chief Accounting Officer at NGP. During her ten years at NGP, as NGP grew from a $600MM Fund VII to a $5.3Bn Fund XI, Ms. Moore oversaw all financial operations, including the day-to-day accounting function, the preparation and analysis of financial reports, the distribution of financial information to investors, the valuation process, the annual audit and the human resources function. During Ms. Moore’s tenure at NGP, she was instrumental in growing and developing a complete finance team (accounting, tax, valuation, compliance) from three people to 16 people. Ms. Moore served on NGP’s Monitoring Committee, Valuations Committee and Operations Committee. Prior to joining NGP, Ms. Moore was the Controller of Goff Moore Strategic Partners, LP (“GMSP”), a private equity fund, from its inception in October 1997 until March 2005. At GMSP, Ms. Moore oversaw all operations. She was an Audit Manager with Arthur Andersen LLP prior to joining GMSP. Ms. Moore is a Certified Public Accountant and received her B.B.A. and M.S. in Accounting in 1991 from Texas Tech University.
Mr. Smiley is a Vice President at Edge Natural Resources LLC. Prior to joining Edge, he was co-founder and CEO of EnerPol, LLC, an oilfield service company focused on developing patented technologies to reduce the cost and environmental impact of oil and gas operations. In 2015, the majority of EnerPol, LLC’s business was sold to a strategic buyer. Before founding EnerPol, LLC, Mr. Smiley was a Consultant in The Boston Consulting Group’s Dallas office where he worked primarily with private equity and energy clients. Mr. Smiley received a B.A. in Government and a B.B.A. in Finance in 2008 from The University of Texas at Austin.
Mr. Knotts is an Associate at Edge Natural Resources LLC. Prior to joining Edge, Mr. Knotts worked in the investment banking division of Barclays Capital in Houston, where he focused on financing and merger and acquisition transactions in the oil and gas industry. Prior to Barclays, Mr. Knotts worked in the investment banking division of Wells Fargo in Houston, where he focused on financing transactions in the oil and gas industry. Mr. Knotts received a B.B.A. with a major in Finance from Texas A&M University in 2013.
Mr. Lutz is an Associate at Edge Natural Resources LLC. Prior to joining Edge, Mr. Lutz was a Manager in the Strategic Planning & Finance group at Energy Transfer (NYSE: ETE/ETP), where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and strategic financial planning across the family of partnerships. Prior to Energy Transfer, Mr. Lutz worked as an analyst at J.P. Morgan in the mid-cap investment banking division where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, capital market financings and strategic advisory assignments. Mr. Lutz received a B.B.A. with majors in Finance and Business Honors, cum laude, from Texas A&M University in 2011.
Mr. Tindall is an Associate at Edge Natural Resources LLC. Prior to joining Edge, Mr. Tindall was an analyst in the investment banking division of Raymond James in Houston, where he focused on financing and merger and acquisition transactions in the oil and gas industry. Prior to his time in investment banking, Mr. Tindall also worked in the equity research division of Raymond James covering upstream oil and gas companies as well as conducting macroeconomic research on crude oil and natural gas. Mr. Tindall received a B.S.B.A. with majors in Finance and Economics, cum laude, from the University of Arkansas in 2012.
